We harness the firm's core competencies to offer a full range of business solutions from payroll, financial administration and VAT compliance through to accounts preparation and act as a company's in house accounts department.

In many cases we work hand in hand with our clients and their "Big 4" auditor to produce audit files.

Tax planning and structuring

The tax department is headed by Danuta Kozubska who has a wealth of experience in a variety of complex tax issues.

The department has a specialism in tax efficient structuring and estate planning as well as dealing with onshore and offshore private clients and corporations.

International tax and financial consultancy and UK and overseas Trust matters are key parts of the work of the department.

The department is particularly strong in the area of domicile and residence and advises clients coming from overseas to the UK and often liases with the senior executives of overseas companies on issues of tax residence.

Insolvency and Business recovery

Robert Palmer and his team specialise in delivering services to stakeholders in businesses experiencing difficulties. Robert is a qualified insolvency practitioner and the team draws on the expertise of experienced professionals in other departments within the firm.

When the problems become severe the only recourse is often liquidation or bankruptcy and as a qualified professional Robert can act as the office holder for example liquidator or trustee in bankruptcy.

Pension scheme auditing, accounting and regulation

Andy Jepson joined the firm in 2001 to fill a gap in the specialism we have by bringing a number of years of experience in the field of Pension scheme auditing.

This highly technical area is in the news for a number of reasons and the increasingly complicated regulatory matters are dealt with by Andy who acts for a number of well known Pension schemes.

Audit and accountancy

The audit department is staffed by experienced professionals. We do not employ trainees as part of a strategic decision to focus on the needs of the client.

As a consequence we have developed a most efficient and competent audit approach designed to fulfil all statutory requirements with the least disruption to the day to day operations of the business.

We prepare accounts in line with statutory requirements for public and private limited companies, LLPs, partnerships, sole traders and other entities such as JVs.

The department work on corporate finance matters such as due diligence, cash flow and profit projections.

The information generated from audit and accounts preparation is used directly by the corporate and personal tax compliance and planning departments.

Tax

The corporate and personal tax functions work hand in hand as our holistic approach ensures that the personal and corporate tax issues are considered as one particularly for owner managed businesses.

We offer compliance services to personal and corporate clients including preparation of tax returns and computations as well as advice on liabilities and the timing of payments.

Inland Revenue enquiries are an ever increasing issue and we are experienced in dealing with personal and corporate enquiries.

Trusts and Charities

The Trust department works on all aspects form the formation of Trusts through to dealing with compliance issues such as tax returns.

We will often work with other professional advisers, particularly solicitors on complex planning matters whether relating to UK or overseas Trusts.

We act for a number of national charities, especially animal charities and with the ever changing regulations impacting on the production of Charity accounts our internal training courses on specific technical matters prove most useful.
